Finished up another scarf this afternoon. This one went really fast. I also really like the colors - a lot. In fact, this particular scarf is screaming someone's name to me.
Every time I look at it, I hear "MELINDA!!! I belong to MELINDA!" So, after it's washed and dried, it's going to find a home over in XBK region. :-) I hope she likes it. Melinda is a purple lady. In fact, I think that poem, When I am old, I will wear purple" was written just for her, even before she becomes "old". She looks wonderful in these colors.

When I am an old woman, I shall wear purple
with a red hat that doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
and satin candles, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I am tired
and gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
and run my stick along the public railings
and make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
and pick the flowers in other people's gardens
and learn to spit.
You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
and eat three pounds of sausages at a go
or only bread and pickles for a week
and hoard pens and pencils and beer nuts and things in boxes.
But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
and pay our rent and not swear in the street
and set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.
But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.
edited to add: Melinda is not like this. :-) hahahahahahahaha! But she does look good in purple. It's that beautiful white hair of hers.

I may have missed it, but what kind of loom are you using? I learned on a small table loom, but now have a Glimakra 48" floor loom but haven't used it in quite a while. I really enjoyed weaving.
While we were home in the States, a very dear friend gifted a little Cricket Loom to me. I was able to pack it, with a partially woven scarf on it :-), in my suitcase when we flew back at the end of December. She also bought a book by Jane Patrick for me, patterns on a ridged heddle loom. I've been experimenting with the different patterns. Maybe someday I'll have a floor loom. My husband has reminded me a number of times that there is NO ROOM in this flat for one. hahaha! I hope you can get back into weaving. I usually work on it in the evenings and find it very relaxing.
